A new initiative offers 12 young professionals a chance to participate in the UN 2023 Water Conference in New York

Grundfos – a global pump and water solutions company – is joining IWA (International Water Association) – a network and an international global knowledge hub committed to the future of water – in a partnership to mobilise 12 young water professionals from all over the world in a new initiative.

The Youth Action for SDG 6 Fellowship offers 12 young professionals a chance to participate in the UN 2023 Water Conference in New York and be part of important discussions on the Sustainable Development Goals.

“It is now time to find the 12 young water professionals and give them this unique experience and opportunity. This is a chance to think ahead and allow the next generation to meet and inspire world leaders as well as learn from and network with other professionals. These opportunities don’t occur often, so I do hope that a lot of young water professionals will apply,” says Grundfos Chief Operating Officer, Ulrik Gernow.

Besides participating in the UN 2023 Water Conference, the young water professionals, who will be selected by IWA, will also participate in a gathering at the Grundfos headquarters in Bjerringbro to present their key learnings from the Water Conference and engage in brainstorming sessions to support the development of a joint Grundfos-IWA publication.

The publication will focus on how the water sector can maximise the benefits of integrating young professionals to achieve sustainable development and will give insights into the critical role young people have in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.

Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old on the date of the UN 2023 Water Conference (22-24 March 2023).

The deadline for applications via the IWA website is 25 November.
