Virtual 3D edition of WETEX and Dubai Solar Show starts today

Today sees the start of the first  virtual edition of the Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) and Dubai Solar Show in the United Arab Emirates.

The 3D exhibition, which is the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa, runs until Wednesday, 28 October with 1,076 companies participating from 52 countries around the world.

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organises the exhibition in line with the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of DEWA.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, Founder and Chairman of WETEX and Dubai Solar Show commented:

“Thanks to the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, WETEX and Dubai Solar Show has become prominent as specialised exhibitions globally. This year’s virtual 3D exhibition will attract many global visitors to review the latest products, services, and innovative solutions in the water, energy, sustainability, and innovation sectors; as well as take part in the virtual seminars that will discuss important topics in sustainability and renewable and clean energy, among others.”

Al Tayer said that WETEX and Dubai Solar Show provide integrated platforms for companies to promote their innovative products, services, and technologies. Their teams can meet decision-makers, investors, buyers and interested parties from around the world to make deals, build partnerships, review the latest technologies, learn about current and future projects and market needs, and explore opportunities to take part in solar power projects and programmes in the region.

DEWA at WETEX

Through its virtual stand at WETEX and Dubai Solar Show 2020, DEWA will highlight some of its projects and initiatives. These include the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the largest single-site solar park in the world, its Research and Development Centre, and its smart initiatives that support Smart Dubai’s initiatives. These include Shams Dubai to connect solar photovoltaic panels in homes and buildings to DEWA’s network, and the Green Charger initiative to build electric vehicle charging stations.

DEWA is also presenting its world-class digital transformation innovations and techniques, and its operations. This includes:

  • Smart Grid Plant; Green Hydrogen Project;
  • Al Shera’a Building;
  • Hatta Hydroelectric Power Plant;
  • Sea Water Reverse Osmosis Desalination Plant;
  •  Aquifer Storage & Recovery project to store desalinated water in groundwater aquifers

B2B meetings

DEWA is aiming to provide sponsors, exhibitors and visitors with an ideal business environment to hold meetings during WETEX. Over the three days of the exhibition, DEWA is providing a business-to-business (B2B) service to streamline communication between sponsors, exhibitors and interested visitors and provide them with the opportunity to expand their business.

Webinars and panel discussions

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is organising 102 specialised seminars and discussion panels during the three-day Water, Energy, Environment, and Technology Exhibition (WETEX) and Dubai Solar Show.

The seminars support DEWA’s strategy to encourage research and development, and establish WETEX and Dubai Solar Show as a leading global platform. Experts and specialists from large international companies will discuss the latest developments and technologies in the water, energy, sustainability and innovation sectors.

The seminars are being held in 5 halls using 3D virtual platforms: Energy Hall, Innovation Hall, Sustainability Hall, the Supplier Relationship Management Hall, in addition to the Main Hall.
